Shawn Michaels Information and History
Michael Shawn Hickenbottom knew by the age of 12 that he wanted to be a professional wrestler. He attended Southwest Texas University for a short time after graduating high school, but learned the college life was not for him. He started training under Jose Lothario, a Mexican professional wrestler.
Michaels joined the WWE in 1987 and is one of the two wrestlers left with the company who were on the very first episode of Monday Night Raw. He is known for his crazy antics outside the ring and his ferociousness inside it. He has many names: the Showstopper, the Main Event and the Heartbreak Kid. He is one of the most successful Superstars in WWE history.
Michaels is a four-time world champion: a three-time WWE Champion, and a one-time World Heavyweight Champion. He also won the 1995 and 1996 Royal Rumbles and he was the first Grand Slam Champion. He captured the European Championship once, the World Tag Team Championship three times and the Intercontinental Championship three times.
